Care Park - 53 Charlotte Street Car Park

Relatively expensive parking, this used to be my go to for a long time untill i realised there were cheaper and more pleasant options to choose from. The carpark has a stench of urine and vomit, especially if you're planning to use the staircase i suggest a facemask, the boom gates take forever to open on occasions. Just an overall unpleasant experience for the price they charge.

I went there yesterday with my wife. I was misled by the promise that the starting price was $16 — I thought that was the hourly rate. I left my car there for about two hours. We couldn’t use the elevator because it was out of order, and my wife is pregnant, so we had to go down the fire stairs instead. The stairs were dark, dirty, and smelled terrible. When we tried to go back up, we couldn’t open the fire door to return to our floor, so we had to go through the car entry, passing through the vehicle gate and walking up three levels as if we were a car just to reach our vehicle. After all that, I was charged almost $70 — an absurd amount for such a terrible experience. I feel completely ripped off. It’s shameful to charge people that much for a place in such poor condition. This was the first and last time I’ll ever park there.

Horrific Overprized! Misleading pricing and very poor conditions. The large $16 sign only covers the first 20 minutes, after which the rate jumps to $32 per hour. This feels intentionally deceptive. In addition, the lift was out of service and the staircase had a strong urine smell. Overall, an overpriced and very disappointing car park.

Just got charged full weekday price while parking on a public holiday. The garage itself is extremely difficult to navigate with a wheelchair, the gutters are high and there are no ramps. The parking bays themselves are too short to fit a standard with a towbar. All parking options in the city are bad, but this one is worse. But I'm particularly mad about getting slugged full weekday price on a public holiday. No sign, no warning, just a ridiculous over charge. The rude, disrespectful and dismissive response I received from the operator, note that he acknowledges no reference to public holiday rates on the signage despite operating on public holidays: "Hi Tim The signage rate boards are located on 7 foot high signs at the entry boom gates and are very clear on the rates that parkers are charged each day. It does not state public holiday rates as there are no public holiday rates at this private car park. We do not agree with your opinions on the suitability of our signage as thousands of parkers use this facility every day without any issues. If you had read the signage on entry and understood the conditions, you would not have come to these assumptions that you should be paying some significantly reduced rate equivalent to a Sunday rate on a Thursday. Parkers have to take some responsibilitiy if they fail to read the signage and understand the conditions at a private car park. It is very disappointing that you failed to do this and attempted to turn this around as if Care Park have made an error in the way we have portrayed our parking rates.
