P1 Parking for Western Sydney University

There’s basically no student parking on campus, so getting a permit is pointless since those spots are always full. On top of that, way too many spaces are set aside for staff, and most of the time those sit empty, which just makes it more frustrating to look at. Parking security seems more focused on handing out fines than actually fixing the problem, which feels unfair when students are already tens of thousands of dollars in debt just to study. Parking around the campus doesn’t help either, most residential streets only let you park for two hours, so you’re constantly stressing about moving your car. It honestly feels like students are being set up to fail, or worse, like the system is designed to squeeze even more money out of us.

Lots of parking space but good luck with actually finding a parking spot. You’ve got to be there by at least 7am to get a preferred spot as after 7:30am the car park is about 90% full with staff and students both using the parking. The blue parking permit is also expensive so you are better off getting a yellow permit. Park at North Campus with yellow permit and take the shuttle to South Campus. Also you’ll find Parramatta City campus students parking at North and South Campus and then they take the shuttle to 1PSQ

Parking on south campus sucks. Don't bother with an expensive blue permit because they oversell them, resulting in full parking during the day (around 8am-6pm), all semester long. You often end up having to park in the north campus, which you can access with a cheap yellow permit. There's less walking involved by using the shuttle bus anyway so it's a no brainer. There was a debacle a few years ago where one day the south campus car park flooded and all the students' cars were left bobbing up and down in the floodwaters.

Great spot for learner drivers, just off the main road from Victoria road for an easy access. Open 24*7, corner of Victoria Road and James Ruse Highway. This is usually for a weekend when no uni students are in park, and you can practice around without worrying to hit someone else or another car around.
